AI-200 is the exam behind Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate, and it is the successor to AZ-204, which has now retired.   4. Secure, monitor, troubleshoot Azure solutions - 168 questions. Key Vault secret retrieval with managed identity, versioning, rotation and caching. App Configuration with labels, feature flags and Key Vault references. Instrumenting with OpenTelemetry, exporting telemetry to Application Insights, and writing KQL to find what went wrong.

Written as a back-end developer exam, not an AI exam:

The name puts AI first and the paper does not. Almost nothing here asks you to choose a model, write a prompt or evaluate an output. It asks how you version a container image, why a message is being delivered twice, which index a similarity query will use, and where a trace stopped correlating. The AI part is the workload; the exam is about the platform underneath it. Candidates who prepare with model and prompt material find they studied a different paper, and candidates arriving from AZ-204 find most of their preparation still counts.

Explanations that teach the topic:

Every explanation name the distinction the question turns on and the boundary where the other choice would have been right, instead of restating the option you picked. The difference is not stylistic. An explanation that restates the option you picked leaves you no readier for the next question; one that names the property that decided it leaves you able to answer a variant you have never seen.

How it is marked:

The pass mark is 70% of the questions you are given, out of 100. Each sitting draws 60 questions from the pool of 700 across all four domains, weighing the way the objectives are, so eleven full sittings pass before repetition starts to matter.
